The good thing about the independent media is that you can be uncompromising, and people actually reward you for having integrity. The problem with independent media is it has become so siloed because people have lost trust in establishments institutions across the global north. Now actually a lot more people are turning to independent media, which is a good thing, but also it means that everything is siloed. People have all different sources of information and there is no more a central place where everyone can go and can count on. (..) There is something dangerous about everything being so siloed.
